Often overlooked by the through traveler, Port Orford is a hidden gem along the southern Oregon Coast. It offers respite from the crowds while showing its unique personality to the dedicated curious. From wild agate-laden beaches to family-friendly protected shores, the beachcombers’ needs are sure to be met. There are dramatically scenic hiking trails within a five-minute drive, while two uniquely wild rivers empty into the Pacific within just a few miles. A lively fishing fleet graces the dry dock of a rare hoist-only ocean access dock. Daily sea kayaking tours also enter the Pacific from the adjacent beach. Fat tire mountain bikes are available for rent and there are a handful of fun restaurants to sample from each day. Port Orford is away from the valley crowds who pour into neighboring Bandon and Brookings. It can be as wildly adventurous or sweetly serene as needed!
